A little about Kara…

I support parents and working professionals through the process of recalibrating their relationships with themselves and others. Folks come to me overextended, frazzled, and generally burned out from taking too much responsibility for the people in their lives, both at home and professionally. I partner with my clients to identify what they want and need and help them understand that they have permission to have wants and needs(!). We unravel what makes it difficult for them to assert these critical aspects of selfhood, then they integrate ways of asserting themselves into their lives in the areas that will make the biggest impact for each individual.

Testimonials

At the beginning of coaching, I wasnt accepting all the parts of myself. I was in people pleasing, doing everything that everyone wanted, and not setting boundaries. In the 6 months that I worked with Kara, I learned that knowing myself was the basis for having self-love and self-respect. I learned how to stop my negative thinking patterns, which has allowed me to connect with my passion to inspire others. Now I decide whether I take others opinions of me: what matters are only my thoughts about myself. I have become strong in the knowledge that I know my potential. I know I can achieve the things I want.

Kara created a space non-intrusively and non-judgementally to explore why I was not happy with my work/life balance. I learned how to create clear boundaries, and how to say no to projects that are not for me. At the same time, I've grown closer to my family as I acknowledge the richness in me, in them, and trust in my kids capabilities. An unexpected result of working with Kara has been that I now trust myself enough to bring my entrepreneurship project to a new level, which is helping me bring even more balance to my life.

I came to Kara at a midlife crossroads. After making it through the pandemic as a working mother of two children, I emerged into a changed world, needing change for myself, but terrified to take action. Coaching showed me how to accept myself as an immigrant and a queer woman: I'm on a different road and have a different story and that's okay. I've claimed my authentic adult female voice of power and I've stopped apologizing for having opinions. With my new confidence to share my ideas publicly, it was easy to write the first draft of my new book.
