What is EFT Tapping? Tapping 101!

Have you ever heard of EFT tapping? Our therapist started tapping with us a while back and we were a little skeptical at first, until it started to work really, really well. EFT tapping helps unlock thoughts, ideas, and feelings - and so much more! We were curious about EFT tapping, so we tapped into our EFT tapping expert Kristen Curtis to answer some common EFT tapping questions!

EFT Tapping 101: what is tapping and why do I need to try it?

1. What is EFT tapping?

EFT tapping or emotional freedom technique is a research based and scientifically proven technique that works by interrupting our innate stress response and creating new pathways to process our emotions easily and effectively. EFT is a tool that you can use everyday to help create new pathways around different challenges in your life. EFT empowers you by regulating your nervous system to help shift and release heavy emotions with grace and ease.

2. Why would EFT tapping help me?

Tapping brings you back home to a regulated nervous system and when you are regulated, you are able to process and transform emotions easily and effectively. Because memories are stored in emotional parts of our brain, tapping also allows us to transform and modify experiences and meanings of these memories so that we can rewire our brain in ways that are serving us more in the present. Incorporating tapping into your life enables you to feel more grounded and present in your body, to notice physical sensations and get to the root of their cause, heal and transform at the core level to step forward in all aspects of your life with more clarity.

3. Do you meet virtually?

Yes, all of the work I do is virtual. I use zoom to connect with you and our sessions are typically one hour long each time we meet. Get in touch with me here!

4. What does an EFT session look like with you as my practitioner?

Our sessions are set up in a way that we deal with what is present in the conscious mind in a safe space. A short grounding practice allows us to notice what physical sensations are arising in the body and we begin tapping. Guiding you with techniques and questioning, we are able to get to the root of the sensation and navigate the memories in connection with the sensation. We gently move through all emotions that arise with compassion and grace, always remembering the time the session is solely for you. I am your guide. We end with a brief reflection and action steps for you to explore before your next session.

5. How many sessions of EFT tapping do I need to see improvement?

The amount of sessions can vary depending on how you are feeling. I offer 3 or 6 session packages, but we can always discuss other options that feel right for you and your healing transformation.
