What to say to your friend who is experiencing disappointment upon finding out baby’s sex

These scripts should serve as a guide for tough, trying, and tremendous life moments.

We’re here to support you in supporting your people. We’re proud of you. And we’ve got you.

Here’s what to say when you don’t know what to say.

I know you're feeling a lot of confusing things about learning the sex of the baby. Remember, your feelings are valid, and I hope that you know that your feelings are not representative of your excitement to be a parent, or your love for the baby. Sometimes things don't happen in the way we think they will, and that doesn't make them bad or wrong, we just have to feel the feelings. Let me know if you need someone to just listen. Remember that you are not alone, and we're all here for you.

Text these scripts, email them, leave them as a voicemail, or as the basis of a phone call or conversation in person. These scripts can be used over and over and across all platforms. We hope they help. We want to support you so that you can support your people.
