Here’s what to say when you don’t know what to say.

First of all, thank you so much for sharing this with me. I'm so proud of you for being brave and speaking up, and please know, anything you say to me is confidential and safe. Your safety is my priority. You do not deserve to be treated like anything other than the amazing, brilliant and lovely person that you are. I am so sorry someone thought it was okay to treat you this way. It is not acceptable. How can I best support you right now? Be honest. What's the safest way to send you some therapists over? I'm happy to call them for you too. Thank you for trusting me with this. Please, please know that you don't deserve anything less than being treated like gold. I love you and we will walk through this together.
