Mother's Quest

A little about Julie…

Mother's Quest provides inspiration, coaching and community for mothers ready to live their version of an E.P.I.C. life while raising their children, especially if there have been a few extra challenges on their motherhood journey. E.P.I.C. is both a metaphor for living a life where you are the author of you story and an acronym mnemonic for the guideposts that help us live that life while raising our children. Whether through the podcast, coaching programs, facebook community or written tools such as a the Live Your EPIC Year Planner, Mother's Quest helps moms and those who mother reclaim themselves and become the fullest expression of who they are meant to be. This also provides a powerful example for our children, because they learn so much by what we do, not what we say.

Testimonials

Working with Julie revolutionized the way I hold myself as a mother. Since my son was born, I had been coming from a place of hardship and victimhood due to a difficult birth and a feeling of isolation. After two conversations with Julie, I had completely faced a limiting belief of how I needed to show up for my son, which allowed me to finally start showing up for MYSELF. It was such a game changer! After that, I started sleeping more, creating more boundaries and taking care of myself in a way that actually allowed me to live my life again. In addition to that, she had me re-write my story of motherhood as an empowered journey and it brought me to tears to see that everything that happened had it’s purpose and I was a stronger woman for it. If you want a coach who will really SHIFT you, and who is also an authentic, deep listener, who will also be honest with you about what needs to change in order for you to be an empowered mother- Julie is your woman!

We started working with Julie as we were re-branding Democracy Clothing, preparing to launch a direct to consumer e-commerce website, and ramping up our social media channels. We wanted to take our social media messaging in a direction that was not common in the fashion brand space by connecting to β€œinfluencers of substance” – mothers primarily who were making a positive contribution to society. Julie curated an amazing group of women leaders who we were able to partner with because of her wide reach and expertise in this area.

Julie is incredibly thoughtful and an amazing listener. She asks insightful and meaningful questions and digs deep. In her need to understand, she has the ability to switch on lights and trigger ideas that would not have existed without her input.

I would tell anyone who asked to absolutely work with Julie. She is a true coach, with the ability to help her clients achieve their goals. Whether her client is a $100 million company, a woman wanting to reinvent herself, or a mom who needs support with life and kids, she has the tools to help you fine-tune your own thinking and positively approach any challenge. She is supportive and understanding, sees the potential in every idea, and helps with the necessary clarity to map out a go-forward plan.

My work with Julie has been life-changing. Before we started working together, I was on a quest to resolve what felt like a total bifurcation of my mom voice from my professional life and pathway- which was a bit bananas given that I was working in family health.

I loved Julie’s framework – the E.P.I.C. life. I loved her politics – embracing social justice. And I loved how clearly skilled and inclusive Julie was and is. I also deeply appreciated her integration of technology – her services/programs are completely accessible to a busy working single mama.

After our time together, I started a non-profit based on my experiences as a medical mom. I leveraged that voice and perspective to:

  • win first place in NIH Rare Disease PR Campaign

  • get an appointment as the parent voice on a State of California Children’s Health Advisory Panel for Medicaid policy and spending

  • and take a role on the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Family Advisory Council.

I am incredibly grateful for getting to work with Julie. I love the parts of myself that make me a good mom (glitter, gratitude, and whimsy) and it’s truly been a joy to bring those parts of myself front and center into my work and advocacy.
