A Place for Fresh Starts: Everyone is Worthy of a Registry and Support

Four years ago after my now ex-husband moved out, I looked around our home – no, now my home.

Even though he’d taken all of his clothes, musical instruments and art, there were hallmarks of the life we had shared everywhere. The tan towels we’d gotten as wedding presents. The tooth brush holder for four that we’d bought when we found out we were expecting our second son. The sheets from the king-sized bed we had slept on as husband and wife.

I knew I wanted it all gone.

I knew that in order for the things around me to change, I had to change the things around me.

Between ordering new sheets, and buying new towels to wrap my boys in, between laying down a new soft rug next to my side of the bed, and installing a security system, I journaled this idea: what if we shifted the cultural narrative and started celebrating big, brave and bold life decisions? What if we supported the people who were making these choices and loved on them through big transitions? What if we made an easy place for them to go to find all the support they needed, from new curtains to divorce attorneys, from the softest blankets to energy healers.

I’m Olivia, the co-founder of Fresh Starts Registry, the first and only platform for everything you need to begin again. Fresh Starts is the only platform that allows for people to build a registry for free, as well as reach all of the experts they need to support them during any big, bold, and brave life change.
